What to Expect
Starting counselling can feel like a big step. It's natural to feel unsure or nervous, especially if this is your first experience of therapy.
My role is to provide a calm, confidential space where there''s no right or wrong way to be. We'll work together at a pace that feels manageable and meaningful for you.
Free Introductory Call
I offer a free 20-minute introductory call by telephone or Google Meet before you decide whether you'd like to book a session. It's a chance to tell me a little about what has brought you to counselling, ask any questions you may have, and get a sense of whether we might be a good fit.
There's no obligation to continue afterwards.
If you'd like to arrange an introductory call, please get in touch using my short enquiry form.
First Session (50 minutes)
If we decide to work together, our first full session gives us the time and space to begin exploring what matters most to you and what you would like to get from counselling.
You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what to say, and there's no expectation that you share everything straight away. We'll take things at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Ongoing Support
If we decide to continue working together, sessions are usually weekly or fortnightly, depending on your needs and circumstances. We'll regularly review how things are going and whether the way we're working together continues to feel helpful.
