About this notice
This privacy notice explains how I, Jenny Brooks, trading as Brooks Integrative Therapy, collect and use personal information when you visit this website or contact me through my enquiry form.
I am the data controller for personal information collected through this website.
Email: jenny@brooksintegrativetherapy.co.uk

Information I collect
If you complete my enquiry form, I may collect:
your name
your email address and telephone number
your preferred type of counselling and availability
information you choose to provide about what has brought you to counselling
Please only provide information that you are comfortable sharing at this initial enquiry stage.
How I use your information
I use the information you provide to:
respond to your enquiry
consider whether I may be able to offer counselling that meets your needs
arrange an introductory call or counselling appointment where appropriate
communicate with you about your enquiry
I do not use information submitted through the enquiry form for marketing purposes and I do not sell your personal information.
Lawful basis for using your information
Under UK data protection law, I need a lawful basis for processing your personal information.
I process information provided when you make an enquiry because it is necessary to take steps at your request before potentially entering into a counselling agreement with you.
Where you choose to provide information about your physical or mental health or other special category information, this is handled with particular care and confidentiality.
How your information is stored
My enquiry form and business email are provided through Google Workspace. Information you submit through the form is therefore processed using Google's services.
I take appropriate steps to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure.
If you subsequently become a client, you will receive a separate, more detailed Client Privacy Notice, explaining how information relating to your counselling is stored, used and retained.
How long I keep enquiries
If you make an enquiry but do not become a client, I will normally delete the personal information you provided within 30 days of our last contact, unless there is a specific reason why I need to retain it for longer.
If you become a client, relevant information from your enquiry may become part of your client record and will then be retained in accordance with my Client Privacy Notice.
Sharing your information
I do not share information from enquiries with other organisations for marketing purposes.
I use trusted service providers, including Google Workspace, to provide services such as my enquiry form, email and secure electronic storage. These providers may process information on my behalf in providing those services.
Information would otherwise only be disclosed where there is an appropriate legal, safeguarding or professional reason to do so.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have rights in relation to your personal information. Depending on the circumstances, these may include the right to:
request access to the information I hold about you
ask for inaccurate information to be corrected
request deletion of your information in certain circumstances
request restriction of the way your information is used in certain circumstances
object to certain uses of your information
These rights are not absolute and may depend on the circumstances and the lawful basis on which your information is being processed.
If you would like to exercise any of these rights or have a question about how your information is handled, please contact me at jenny@brooksintegrativetherapy.co.uk.
If you have concerns about how your personal information has been handled, you also have the right to raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
